Pride and Prejudice is a movie adapted from Jane Austin’s novel. It occurs in classic England around the 18th century. This movie is well cast from top to bottom, but the greatest characters are Elizabeth Bennet, Mr. Darcy, and Mrs. Bennet.

Keira Knightly stars in the lead role of Elizabeth Bennet, a character who is well loved by all. The movie was told through her eyes.

Matthew MacFadyen plays the role of Mr. Darcy. This character is one of literature’s great romantic heroes who has a proud and arrogant side. Then as the story progresses he shows his softer, shy, and considerate side.

Brenda Blethyn plays Mrs. Bennet. She is a silly, fluttering, and highly-strung woman, who thinks that her daughters face a black future unless one of them marries a financially stable man who can take care of her family.

It’s a great two-hour movie with eye-popping Victorian era settings. It’s also full of interesting characters with quirky and complicated personalities. I totally recommend this movie.
